It is just two days before the race and I have decided to take a break from running.
However I have tried to stick to as much of a diet as I had prior to the race. Actually I am in Kansas City right now so I would be ling if i said i wasn't pigging out on BBQ. But for the rest of the meals I have tried to eat lighter meals.
The biggest thing when trying going on a road trip which is this long is to stretch as much as possible. Also try to drink a lot of water and ease up on the salty foods since they make you retain more water.
I good road trip is always welcome and I plan to just go with it... its not really a choice however... a 20 hour trip is hard to not embrace the vacation mode.
